Appetite control and insulin resistance

  • Butyrate production: Butyrate is involved in appetite control and regulating insulin levels.
  • Propionate production: Propionate helps control appetite and maintain blood sugar levels.
  • Microbes causing insulin resistance: Certain microbes can lead to insulin resistance, trigger anxiety, and increase food cravings.

Promoting fat metabolism

  • Microbes that enhance fat metabolism: Certain groups of microbes help increase fat metabolism and produce beneficial substances for the body.
  • Microbes that inhibit fat metabolism: Some types of microbes produce substances that obstruct fat metabolism, preventing fat from being utilized.

Energy storage regulation

  • Production of lipopolysaccharides (LPS): Gram-negative bacteria contain LPS in their cell walls. In cases of leaky gut, these substances can enter the bloodstream, causing mild inflammation throughout the body. As a result, the body tends to store more fat, contributing to the development of obesity and metabolic disorders.
